**The answer is feet roughly hip-width apart. That stance gives you balance and stability without straining your back or legs.**

Feet together with your weight on your toes, a sharp turned-out angle, or locked knees leaning forward will all wear on your body over a long shift. A hip-width stance with slightly bent knees keeps you steady behind the chair for hours at a time.
