# Where Do Used Razor Blades Go?

> Discard used razor blades in a dedicated sharps container, not a plastic bag or regular trash — a standard infection-control rule for every shop.

**The answer is a sharps container. Used blades are a puncture hazard and need to go somewhere built for that.**

A closed trash bag or a regular waste basket doesn't protect anyone handling shop trash afterward from a needlestick-style injury. A dedicated sharps container is designed specifically to prevent that, which is why it's treated as a strict rule rather than a tidiness preference.
