The answer is pustules. Pus-filled bumps mean an active infection, and the shave service doesn't happen until that clears up.
Wiping the area with alcohol or just working around the bumps doesn't fix the underlying problem — a blade anywhere near active infection risks spreading it to the client or to you. When you spot pustules, the right move is to stop before you start, not adjust your technique around them.
