What Belongs in the Finishing Steps of a Shave?

The answer is massaging moisturizer into the skin. That happens at the end of the shave, not during setup.

Stretching the skin, lathering the face, and applying pre-shave oil all happen before or during the actual shave — they get the skin ready for the blade. Moisturizer comes after, to calm the skin down once the shave is done.
