What Prep Step Comes Before Any Product Touches the Client's Face?

The answer is draping the client. Protecting their clothes and setting up before any product goes on comes first.

Toning, moisturizing, and powder dusting are all real steps too, but they belong at the end of the shave, in the finishing stage, not before it starts. Draping happens right at the top, before hot towels or lather ever come into play.
