What's the Process Called for Planning Long-Term and Short-Term Goals?

The answer is goal setting. It's the process of laying out where you want to end up long-term and the smaller steps that get you there.

Opening your own shop in five years and covering this month's rent are both goals — one long-term, one short-term — and goal setting is the practice of mapping out both together. Time blocking and networking are useful skills, but neither one is the term for identifying your goals.
