How Should You Unplug a Shop Appliance?

The answer is gripping the plug itself and pulling. That's the safe way to disconnect any electrical appliance.

Yanking or twisting the cord instead wears down the wire inside over time, which can expose it and create a real shock or fire hazard. Stepping on the cord is even worse. Get in the habit of reaching for the plug, not the cord, every time.
